Mint and blush are the new black this season!  I was flipping through ELLE magazine and on almost every page these sorbet colors appeared.  My eyes were hypnotized, and when I looked up I was automatically drawn to all the pieces we have here in spool in the same mint and blush palette.

This inspired me to create a little collage to show the “power of pastel.”  These colors seem to be available in just about anything… whether it be a dress or dessert these colors have defined this season.  You can play a little eye spy to figure out what we have added from spool. Good luck!

Left side:  I have the m. patmos striped sweater styled with the hannii y. mint tank.

Right side:  In the upper corner mixed in, I am showing off the inhabit blush cashmere sweater, rodrigo otazu white sand opal necklace and my favorite; the mint humanoid cloth bag.  On the lower right corner the hanii y. mint trench coat (love!) styled with a blush we are owls silk/cashmere scarf and a lastly a vintage beaded coin purse.

A fab statement necklace is a must have this season!  This piece can act in two ways:  it can make jeans and t-shirt look tres chic or it can add va voom to your ‘staple’ little black dress.

The weekend is going be yet another gorgeous one; making it perfect beach weather.  Gina and her girlfriends are feeling spontaneous and decided to spend their lovely days in Laguna Beach at the Montage Resort!  This glamorous weekend calls for a fabulous and effortless wardrobe.  She is so thrilled to be able to pull out her light summer pieces, beautiful necklaces and amazing yet comfortable shoes.  We are having so much fun picking out her wardrobe and planning her ensembles for the walks on the beach, lounging by the pool and sassy evenings out and about.

We are jazzed to showcase the new tucker and mother pieces we have just received for spring.  The colors and prints from this seasons tucker are vibrant and fun.  As for the new mother, we got in a new color and style that will just blow your mind.

Below I have created a few fun flirty looks highlighting the new pieces…..

On the left we are showing off the new mother ‘the looker prep’ lavender jeans.  Lavender is one of my favorite colors for spring and I am just loving it in denim.  Wearing a colored jean is such an easy way to make a great outfit or incorporate this season’s colorblocking; pair with a simple top, statement jewels and a fabulous jacket and you will look like a rock star.

On the right you have the classic silk cami dress.  You can throw this on with just about anything dress it up or down with flip flops, it is simply up to you.  Gina often wears her dresses with flip flops or wedge boots.  This print is my favorite for this collection.  It is so girly and ladylike.  We added brogden’s thin leather bomber jacket in a soft beige hue to give it a little edge.  This is perfect combination of sexy and cute.

This outfit is showing off a tucker’s classic ruched cami and mother ‘tie me up’ rascal crop jean.  The look is so fresh and effortless.  The print on the yellow cami really tones down the intensity of the color, and makes it easy to put an outfit together.  This print happens to be Gina’s favorite.  A nice addition for her spring wardrobe, as a matter of fact she styled this and will be wearing this look often.  The fab coral/red mini striped jacket is iro which is selling out repeatedly.  The cami’s are great staples for your wardrobe, and the perfect underpinnings to layer with your summer blazers  Many know that tucker travels and packs so well and take up miminal room in the suitcase.  So pack up a rainbow of prints for your next summer get away.

On the left you have my favorite outfit that I have put together for this collection.  I am a sucker for pattern on pattern and I took a leap of faith and came up with this.  This is the henley silk tunic with a geometric print, and pairs amazingly with the the iro uma jacket.  The tunic is 3/4 sleeved and is a little on the shorter side, so I added a raquel allegra lace slip to add length.  I love how daring this outfit is; I know you cool girls out there would look “to die for” in this ensemble.

Looking to the right you have the butterfly cascade dress from tucker which is extremely flattering.  This is a hot little number.  It is a high low dress and gathers on the side.  The butterflies definitely soften this black dress making this dress a perfect transition from day or night.  You don’t need to add much to this one…the butterfly pattern makes this a fun statement dress.

This dress has summer written all over it.  The 3/4 sleeve classic mini dress is a watercolor sun kissed print.  This is a great dress to show off a little leg ladies!  These colors will work as a perfect complement to that gorgeous summer glow we all will be working on this summer.  It reminds me of a beautiful afternoon stroll in the streets of Tuscany.  Add a gold chunky necklace, a sleek clutch or fun raffia bag and you have a cute “go to” outfit for all those summer party invites ahead.

This week is going to be beautiful and sunny so start pealing back the layers ladies!  Tucker is a great way to show off some skin this spring/ summer.  Enjoy the lovely days ahead!

We are proud to present a new jewelry collection here at spool.  Long time client and fashionista; Pamela Brown has created a lovely collection of fine pieces, that we have the pleasure of carrying in the store.

Pamela has had much experience in the fashion industry; she started out as a fashion designer and then took her talents and creativity to jewelry.  The theme of her jewelry is simplicity, and is all about layering.  Everything she creates is one of a kind.  We are so thrilled to have her lovely pieces in our store; and it is great that we can help support her talents.

Here is a few of her pieces.  She uses precious stones with beautiful colors and textures.  Enjoy!

These strands of aquamarine precious stones are great for layering.  She also has added diamond rondelles and bone beads.

Here are a few pendant necklaces.  On the left we have a rain drop pendant necklace, next we have a flower like cluster of diamonds.  In the middle, is a one of a kind charm necklace, it is made to be a time capsule.  Lastly we have Gina’s and my favorite: the feather necklace.  It is made of  pave diamonds.  All of the necklaces have gold detail and gold chains.

 These are some of her signature dangle earrings.  They are also made with precious stones and the colors are absolutely stunning.  On the top left we have my favorite the tear drop earrings encrusted in champagne diamonds.

Pamela Browns jewelry is the perfect add on to your every day wardrobe.  It is simple, beautiful and effortless. Throw on the layering beads with a plain t-shirt and jeans and it will transform the look.  The pendants are great to pair with a light pretty sundress; adding this simple sparkly pendant could make it look a tad bit more sophisticated.  Lastly the earrings are perfect for all occasions and priced well for a gift giving.

Everyone needs that little white dress for spring, the perfect staple to feel fresh and pretty in.  We have you covered and have the perfect white dress for all kinds of girls with different occasions.

For girls night and date night what is better then looking sexy in the perfect white dress. We have the MM6 draw string dress on the left.  This dress has a marble print to it giving it a little contrast.  Rock the dress with a cool leather jacket and you got a hot but edgy look.  On the right you have may favorite little “white” dress.  This one is by Co. it is a ballerina inspired dress.  This dress is incredibly simple but has a plunge u- back that makes this classic dress incredibly hot!  Style both these dresses with some fabulous jewels for the pop of color that you need.

These dresses are light and gossamer; extremely fun and flirty.  I adore the loup charmant sleeveless dress on the left.  This has no detail but the cut of it is what catches the eye; I love the layering effect that it gives at the bottom. In my opinion it gives the dress such an elegant look.  However it makes the perfect beach/poolside cover up.  This dress did need something extra so I added a we are owls cashmere silk scarf and an army green cotton bag by humanoid.  On the right you have a playful organic by john patrick dress.  This is the perfect dress for a picnic/bbq or salsa dancing the night away.  The silk belt adds a little sunburst and beautiful details.  I layered on a bunch of rust coral colored beads from giada forte to tie in the belt.

These dresses are for your lazy weekends on a resort and beach. Both these pieces are light and simple. They double as a great cover up and travel really well.  Throw a slip on underneath and you also have a cute dress.  On the left you have the burning torch sleeveless dress; it has a drop waist and embroidered detail along the hem and neck.  On the right, is raquel allegra super soft shred dress with 3/4 sleeves. This is so comfy you will want to sleep in it. If theses dresses are too simple for you layer on necklaces, rings, or bangles.  Simple is some times when you look the best.

The warm weather is starting to hit so get ready to bring out all your light colorful things.  Make sure you have the perfect white dress that every girl needs this spring/summer. White is all over this summer and an effortless white dress is the perfect thing to make you  feel like a goddess.

Happy Spring ladies!

Here are a few of our spring favorites to help jumpstart and update your spring wardobe.

We have two different looks for two kinds of ladies.  One for our working girl and the other for our busy mom who want to continue to look and feel fab while running around town or on a date night with the hubby.  Whether you are running around all day or at the office doesn’t mean you can’t still look fabulous! 

This group is for the “modern” working girl.  We have the black silk pleated skirt, champagne silk top, and navy silk blazer for the traditional work look.  I also threw in an amazing dress by Co, which is my favorite – this dress defines summer.  It has a low U shape back which you can style with the blazer for the office and then after a long day throw off the blazer and meet your gal pals for drinks. This dress needs to be seen.  I added the accessories for pops of color which are easy day to night accessories as well.

Above these are few more pieces of the collection Les Aperizes that are beautifully made with gorgeous fabrics and fine details.  Note the black silk pleat skirt has a wide leather waist band with gold buttons and the sleek silk navy pencil skirt. Love it!

This group is for the “casual chic” mom.  Here I have a pastel color pallette featuring this season’s hottest colors .  On the left, under the blush pink lazer cut leather jacket I have a terra cotta  silk camisole paired with a flirty lavender maxi skirt by giada forte.  In the middle I have a soft blue long shirt dress by humanoid.  Next I have a dusty pink silk slip by a new designer loup charmount.  She is a Brooklyn based designer and uses all organic silks and cottons for her collection. Lastly we have my favorite local LA designer raquel allegras’ corn flower blue butterfly shirt with shred, paired with the cutest silk white pants by cut 25 that are not only comfy but very flattering.

 All the accessories: the MM6 boots, we are owls silk/cashmere scarve, vintage bake light bangles and Jack & Stella necklace are a nice addition to all the pieces.

Happy Friday gals!

Sun is shining and we are expecting some warmer weather this weekend. Spring is right around the corner or at least spring is happening here at spool.  It is all about being happy and living a colorful life.  We are excited for all the spring collections and we are really jazzed about introducing Cut 25 by Yigal Azrouel, a new contemporary collection launched in Fall 2010.  His collection is an edit of key items combining high fashion to day- to day simplicity.  Here are some of are favorite pieces that have arrived in spool.

In the first picture we have a cut 25 silk cowl neck top in the color iris.  It is a beautiful top you can wear out at night or soften it up to wear for some day time errands.  The top is paired with a great white pant; it has a black band and taupe stripe down the side. These pants are also a silk mix and a great cozy throw on that will make you look amazing.  Super comfy to boot :)

Next we have a great fun star print dress.  This flirty silk dress is a statment piece on it’s own or mix it up with this season’s must have white blazer and  neutral tone wedges for work.  I love this dress and guaranteed to make others happy around you.

The third picture is so amazing and absolutely effortless!  On the top we have a color block high low cotton sleeveless sweater, paired with a high low silk skirt.  I love this outfit because the pieces go so well together with out the look being too matchy.  Although the belt was definitely needed; it gave the outfit the finishing touch that was necessary.

Lastly we have a coral mesh knit peek a boo sweater.  I styled it with a new colorful tucker cami.  Pair with some jeans or leggings and it is a great throw on that you will feel put together in, but still very comfortable.

 We are excited to announce two new collections for spool.  Giada Forte from Italy and a collection from The Netherlands, called Humanoid.  Both collections are beautiful and we are selling through it fast.

These collections are two in one (elegant & easy).

I decided to be a little more helpful and put two different looks together focusing on one or two items that way you can see the versatility of each piece.  We are salivating over this gorgeous ivory lace coat.

#1: I paired the jacket with hanii y silk minty green tank and mother velvet skinny’s to give you a great casual look.  If you are wanting to add a little sparkle throw on a beautiful necklace.

#2: in this photo I styled a humanoid navy dress with the lace jacket and a simple giada forte coral beaded necklace.  This is a great transitioning outfit going from day to night.  Stunning for a nice dinner or a few drinks.

#3: This is just and all around fun outfit! The top is a clover canyon loose tank with sequence detail. The top is great for either night or day the colors are so vibrant. As for the bottoms I styled with the raquel allegra shred legging it gives this flirty outfit a little bit of an edge.

#1:  the lightweight soft cardigan and necklace are paired with a humanoid grey/beige pinstripe drawstring dress.  The perfect throw on outfit.  The look is absolutely effortless but looks great.

#2: in the second photo I styled a crisp white silk camisole from giada forte with a black legging. Dressing the outfit up a little but keeping it cozy!

This dress is stunning and one of the best pieces of the collection.  The color is a beautiful coral cinnamon.  It is so whimsical and the perfect piece for this spring, light weight and flowy.  It’s perfect for vacation or a lunch out with the girls.  The look is just so fresh and ethereal.
